Addressing Past Complex Trauma:
It is common for children who have experienced complex trauma to blame themselves for situations that have occurred in their life. These thoughts often lead to negative self-esteem into adulthood.
To help reduce this blame and shame, I try to help teach children turned adults that what happened to them is not their fault.
Teaching children and adults how to redirect their thoughts to focus on their strengths and positive feelings can help build a more constructive self-narrative.
